Lithuanian Nobility that has ruled and protected Lithuanian State formed more than 600 years ago. Kaunas Nobility Society, associating Lithuanian nobility progeny, who have proved their ancestors’ noblemen’s family’s continuance, to Lithuanian nobility organization, is legal Lithuanian nobility’s inheritance absorber.

Kaunas Nobility Society is the inheritor of all rights and duties of the Lithuanian Union of Nobility that was in force from 1928 till 1940. In June, 1994 the Union was registered at the Ministry of Justice.

The main missions of Kaunas nobility Society are: to promote respect and love to Lithuanian state, nation, its history, language, culture, and family; to cherish Lithuania's spiritual revival, European Christian values; to popularize Lithuanian Kingdom's, Great Duchy of Lithuania nobility's historical inheritance, traditions; and to refresh principals of justice, honour, dignity, nobleness and responsibility in Lithuania.

Kaunas Nobility Society spheres of activity include research of the past – genealogy, heraldry, nobility and estate culture inheritance, organization of cultural events, expansion and activity popularizing, development of relations with foreign associations of noblemen, developing of noblemen’s future – the youth, publishing activity.

Kaunas Nobility Society activity types are legitimacy, education, nobility confirmation certificates presenting ceremonies, creating of symbolism, organization of concerts, exhibitions, conferences, excursions, charity and other events, publishing of books and magazines, accumulatin.

Numerous regional organizations are established in Klaipėda, Panevėžys, Šiauliai, Telšiai, Tauragė, Vilnius. Besides, we have members in different countries of Europe, America, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia. We have contacts with many organizations of nobles abroad. We publish the journal "Lietuvos bajoras", electronical newsletter is published and send every quarter for our foreign members.

Articles of association Kaunas Nobility Society 

1. General Provisions

1.1. Name of the association – The Nobleman Society of Kaunas Region (hereafter – Society). Society is a legal entity with limited civil liability, whose aim is to coordinate the work of Society members, represent the interest of Society members and defend them, as well as to meet other public interests.
1.2. The Nobility in Lithuania has formed more than 600 years ago, it ruled and protected the State of Lithuania. Society is a legal successor of Lithuanian Nobility legacy. 
1.3. Society acts in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania, the Association Law of the Republic of Lithuania and other laws. Society also acts in accordance with the government decisions and this statute (hereafter – Statute).
1.4. Society can only have the civil rights and responsibilities, that do not contradict it‘s purposes, established in the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania, the Association law of the Republic of Lithuania and in this Statute.  
1.5. The legal form of the Society – association. It has the bank account, stamp, flag and other symbols. 
1.6. The financial year of the Society is the calendar year.

2. The purposes and fields of the activity of the Society

2.1. The purposes of the activity of the Society are: 
2.1.1. to promote respect and love for Lithuania country, people, it‘s history, language, culture, family;  
2.1.2. To cherish the spiritual rebirth of Lithuania, christian values; 
2.1.3. to popularize historical heritage and traditions of the nobles from the Kingdom of Lithuania, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, ancient lithuanians nobles spirit and obligations in the public society. 
2.1.4. To enliven the principles of justice, honor, dignity and obligation in Lithuania. 
2.1.5. To create more educated, active and helpful society by our example and suggestions;
2.2. In order to achieve the goals, mentioned in 2.1., the Society:  
2.2.1. is exploring the past – genealogy, heraldic, heritage of the nobles and manors. 
2.2.2. organises cultural events (concerts, exhibitions, conferences and etc.);
2.2.3. promotes and develops the work and contacts of the Society with local and foreign noble organisations.  
2.2.4. actively takes part in the education of children and youth of Lithuanian nobles. 
2.2.5. implements the document verification for people, claiming to be nobles;
2.2.6. organizes the ceremonies and submits the acts of the recognition of the nobility; 
2.2.7. creates the noble attributes;
2.2.8. receives support and provides support and charity, organises related events; 
2.2.9. developes contacts and represents LBKS in other related organisations, is involved in the work with member‘s rights;
2.2.10. co-operates with other Lithuanian and foreign cultural-historical organisations; 
2.2.11. moderates the internet site and publishes publications, related to the goals of the Society; 
2.2.12. buys and ownes property and asset. 
2.3. In order to achieve the goals, mentioned in 2.1., Society may:  
2.3.1. in oral, written and other ways spread the information about its work, promote the objectives of the Society‘s activity; 
2.3.2. set up the media outlets, engage in publishing; 
2.3.3. hire employees for the activities, stated in the Statute; 
2.3.4. get support (in financial, any other asset or services) from natural or legal persons in Lithuania, foreign countries and international organisations; 
2.3.5. establish legal entities, except those, whose civil liability for the obligations of the legal person is unlimited, or be it‘s;
2.3.6. join an international organisation, whose goals and work does not contradict the Constitution, the Association Law of the Republic of Lithuania or other laws; 
2.3.7. carry out other activities, that are not prohibited by the Association Law. 
2.4. The Society uses the unpaid organisational work of its members, in order to achieve the goals and tasks, if needed, hires employees, according to the procedure, established by laws, the funds and assets of the Society. The Society cooperates with other institutions and associations, movements and individuals, whose goals meet Society‘s goals. 
2.5. If necessary, the Society has the right to carry out business or commercial activities, that do not conflict with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, legal acts and this Statute, in order to achieve its goals. 

3. Rights and Responsibilities of Society‘s Members. Rules of Acceptance, Withdrawal and Removal of Members from the Society.

3.1. Members of the Society may be at age 18, active natural persons, having voluntarely expressed their desire to become Society members and proven by the legitimation their noble origin and given an oath. Persons, under age 18, may have the rights and responsibilities in the Society in accordance with the procedure established by the Civil Code..
3.2. To become a member of the Society, a person has to submit a written application to the Society Council, where the candidate confirms, that he is familiar with the Statute and assumes the obligation to fulfill it and documents, proving the noble origin. The decision about accepting the new member of the Society is made by Society Council, which has the recommendation from the Legitimation Commission, in the nearest Council meeting by the simple majority. About made decision, the applicant is informed within 20 calendar days, since the decision is made. Member becomes after giving an oath and paying entrance and memberchip fees for the current year within 1 month after the day of the announcment about the acceptance.
3.3. The membership is cancalled in these cases:
3.3.1. After leaving the Society;
3.3.2. After removing from the Society;
3.3.3. After death of the member;
3.3.4. After liquidation of the Society.
3.4. Society member, wanting to leave the Society, writes a request to the Society Council, which makes the decision about resignation of the member in the nearest meeting. A member must complete or transfer his obligations, by the time he leaves.
3.5. A person, who has hostile interests for Society goals or is legally recognised as a holocaust or genocide participant, took part in the activities of repressive structures, may be unaccepted, if he was already a member – removed from the Society.
3.6. Also, the Society member may be removed from the Society in these cases:
3.6.1. without a justifiable reason did not pay the membership fee longer than 2 years;
3.6.2. roughly violated the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, Society Statute, Society member obligations or other Society programs;
3.6.3. engaged in destructive or any other harmful for the Society activities. If it causes any moral and (or) material damage or any other loss, the Society member must compensate for damage in accordance with the procedure established by laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
3.7. The decision on the removal of the Society member is made by the Society Council, in the next meeting 2/3 of the votes of the majorityof the members of the Council.
3.8. Society membership fees, other contibutions, also the property, transfered to the Society are not returned to the removed Society member.
3.9. Society member duties:
3.9.1. comply with the Statute and decisions taken by the management body;
3.9.2. pay the membership fee in time;
3.9.3. fully support the activities of the Society;
3.9.4. save and properly use the property of the Society;
3.9.5. carry out other obligations and agreements for the Society.
3.10. Society members have the right to:
3.10.1. participate and vote in the general meetings of the Society;
3.10.2. use the services of the Society, participate in the development of a long-term program and strengthen the material base;
3.10.3. elect and be elected to the Society governing bodies;
3.10.4. submit offers about Society activities and request for a reading in the Society general meeting;
3.10.5. leave the Society at any time, informing about it in writing the Society council and fully paid for the Society;
3.10.6. argue in Noble honorary court the decisions of General meeting of members, Society council and (or) single-body management body (the Commander) and defend their rights and legal interests, if they are beeing violated, According to the procedure established by the law of the Republic of Lithuania;
3.10.7. immediately inform the Society about his correspondence address and other contact information and their changes;
3.10.8. have other statutory rights, that do not contradict the Statute.
3.11. Society members have the same rights, no matter what entrance or membership fee they pay or provide support.
3.12. General members meeting, with a single-body management body‘s (the Commander‘s) suggestion, may give an honorary member name to a non-member of the Society, sho deserved for the activities of the Society.
3.13. Society membership fee and other contributions and the payment order is not declared in the Statute, because it is approved by a seperate document during the General member meeting. Membership fee must be paid annually until March 1 of this year, except cases, when a new member is accepted.
3.14. For the Society members, older than 75 years, at their written request for the Society Commander, they may be granted emeritus status, which exempts from the membership fee, but allowes to take a part in the activities without a right to vote. The emeritus status is granted by Society Council, on the recommendation of the commander.
4. Management of the Society
4.1. The Society acquires civil rights, assumes civil liability and implements them through it‘s governing bodies.
4.2. Governing Bodies of the Society are:
4.2.1. General meeting of members – Seimelis;
4.2.2. Council;
4.2.3. Commander;
4.2.4. Auditor (Revision Commission);
4.2.5. Legislative Commission;
4.2.6. Noble Honorary Court;
4.2.7. Chancellor.
4.3. Seimelis has all the rights of the general meeting. Seimelis has no right to instruct other Society bodies to resolve issues falling within its competence.
4.4. Society governing bodies are Council and Commander.
4.5. Council is a collegial management body, which solves issues that are beyond the competence of the Seimelis or of the Commander.
4.6. Commander is a sole governing body, which organizes daily Society work.
4.7. Commissions are collegial bodies, that carries out activities not related to the management of the Society.

MŪSŲ KAUNO APSKRITIES BAJORŲ DRAUGIJA - tai asociacija vienijanti žmones, kurių protėviai buvo bajorai ir yra teisėta Lietuvos bajorystės paveldo perėmėja. Lietuvos bajorija, valdžiusi ir gynusi Lietuvos valstybę, susiformavo daugiau nei prieš 600 metų.

Siekiame populiarinti Lietuvos Karalystės, Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės, Kauno krašto bajorijos istorinį paveldą ir tradicijas.
Savo aktyvioje veikloje diegiame teisingumo, garbės, orumo, kilnumo ir pareigos principus.

Svarbiausia pagarba ir meilė Lietuvos valstybei, tautai, jos istorijai, kalbai, kultūrai, šeimai, krikščioniškosioms vertybėms.
